Claude announced Fable 5.1 Build Days in cities around the world. One Indian city made the list. The timeline had opinions. All of them are saved here.
At 1:27 am on Friday, @claudeai posted a 30-second video. Fable 5.1 Build Days, a worldwide buildathon from September 11 to 25, with the Claude community hosting in cities across every continent. The video scrolls through the host cities. Nairobi. Stockholm. Cape Town. Oslo. Mexico City. Osaka. Miami. Then, in a clay-coloured box: Bhopal.
Bhopal was the only Indian city on the list. No Bengaluru, no Delhi, no Mumbai, no Hyderabad. Within half an hour the quote-posts started, and they did not stop. By 5:37 am X's trending system had bundled the conversation into its own story page, first titled "Claude Fable 5.1 Build Days Launch Worldwide with Bhopal Spotlight" and later renamed "Claude Community Hosts Global Fable 5.1 Buildathons, Spotlights Bhopal in India". That page is where this post comes from.
Update, 2 pm IST: Bengaluru is on the list now, and it got there after Bhopal trended. There was no Bengaluru event when the announcement went out at 1:27 am. The first word of one came at 1:44 pm, twelve hours later, from @knowShubhangi, who is hosting it: a Claude Fable Build Day in Bengaluru on Friday, September 25, followed by a Claude Conversation in Mumbai on the 26th. Bhopal, on the 20th, was first on the list and is first on the calendar.
Update, 10 pm IST: the story is still climbing. X has renamed it four times since the morning, and at the last refresh it counted 3,024 posts in the trend, with 1.1M views on the announcement. On X's trending page it now sits beside two larger India stories from the same day, Karnataka's partnership with Anthropic on public services and Anthropic's chief executive Dario Amodei meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bhopal's is the smallest of the three and the only one about a city nobody expected on the list.

Anthropic launched Fable 5.1 on September 1, its strongest model yet for coding, agentic tasks, and knowledge work. The Claude community responded with buildathons through September 25 in cities like Nairobi, Stockholm, Cape Town, Oslo, Bhopal, and Bangalore, offering hands-on sessions, demos, challenges, and $100 API credits per attendee. In India, organizer Aniket Sahu hosts Bhopal's event on September 20, while Shubhangi Gupta runs Bangalore's on September 25—events praised for empowering local builders with real-time access to the model.
X's summary of the trend, written by Grok. X adds: "This story is a summary of posts on X and may evolve over time. Grok can make mistakes, verify its outputs."
Because the local chapter put an event on the calendar. Build Days are hosted by Claude community chapters in each city, and Bhopal has one: a volunteer-run group, hosted by The Origin Guild, that has held nine free meetups since March, from Claude Code workshops to a full-day Impact Lab in August. When the Fable 5.1 Build Days went up on the global calendar, Bhopal was on it.
Three events are on the chapter's calendar for September, and the Build Day is the one the whole timeline was arguing about.
